Ground Penetrating Radar

What is Ground Penetrating Radar?

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a non-invasive technology used to detect underground objects and features without digging. For homeowners, GPR can be invaluable in locating hidden elements beneath your property, such as underground storage tanks, buried utility lines, old septic tanks, or even the foundation of a previous structure. It works by sending radar pulses into the ground and analyzing the reflected signals to create a map of what's below the surface. Whether you're buying a home, planning a renovation, or just want peace of mind about what's under your yard, GPR provides a safe and accurate way to avoid potential hazards and costly surprises.

The Next Generation of Property Sweeps – Ground Penetrating Radar

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) works by sending radar waves into the ground, up to 60' or more, depending on soil conditions. When the waves encounter an object in the ground, the reflected signals are bounced back to the surface, and collected as data in the hard drive for analysis. The object's depth is also recorded.

Using the latest GPR technology, our technicians can give you a more detailed cross section of objects buried in the ground, better than a conventional "tank sweep" with just a metal detector, because GPR technology will also locate non-metallic objects as well.

For buyers to make a more informed decision about:

  • Non-Metallic Objects
  • Locate & Map Underground Storage Tanks
  • Abandoned Septic tanks, Leach Field Boundaries & Cesspools
  • Underground Utilities
  • Areas with Buried Debris
  • Voids under Garage and Basement Floors
